Jamie Howard, D.M.D., M.S.D. is one of only a handful of Board Certified Periodontists and Implant Specialists in Mississippi. She is from Clinton, MS where she grew up with her parents and three older sisters. She attended the University of Mississippi and was a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College as well as a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. After graduating with a degree in biology, Dr. Howard attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry.

During dental school Dr. Howard was a member of numerous clubs and committees and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Societies. She worked in an oral surgery practice throughout dental school, which is where her love for oral surgery was born. Dr. Howard graduated with honors and completed one of the top Periodontics and Implantology residencies in the country at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Dentistry. She also earned her Masters of Science in Dentistry during residency with a subspecialty in gum grafting and correction of gum recession defects. Dr. Howard has a special interest in aesthetics, ensuring that a healthy, beautiful smile is reflected in the total face. She worked in Birmingham in private practice prior to moving back to Mississippi with her husband.

Dr. Howard remains very active in community outreach. She is an associate professor at the dental school and teaches pre-doctoral students in both clinical and didactic settings. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontics, the Southern Academy of Periodontics, the Mississippi Dental Association and the Academy of Osseointegration.

During her free time Dr. Howard enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, playing tennis and long hikes with her dog, Ramsay.
